The Dilemma of Kitchen Storage
Where are you going to put everything in your new kitchen? Kitchen storage can be a dilemma; kitchen furniture is not nearly as evolved, it seems, as furniture for other rooms of the house. Much of the time, kitchen storage is nothing more than built-in cupboards. And it seems you never have enough space for everything - especially if you enjoy cooking and like to explore new and different cooking styles, storage needs become paramount. This piece of kitchen furniture may be elaborate - narrow table with several drawers or shelves, a knife rack, towel racks, and a quality butcher block on top, designed for both cutting and storage. Or it may be simpler, just a tall cutting shelf on wheels that you can move easily from place to place in the kitchen. With either piece of furniture you automatically gain extra storage space because you have moved the cutting boards and maybe more off of your built-in counters. Other devices, like sliding shelves, lazy susans, stacking boxes, all have the effect of enlarging kitchen storage space, and substitute nicely for more elaborate kitchen furniture like the hutch. Whatever your kitchen storage furniture needs, a little creativity and shopping savvy will turn up something that will fit the bill.
